Teachers’ Choice Award

tca_000Learning Magazine sponsors this award, which recognizes excellence in classroom books. All books are judged by a team of experienced pre-K through 6th-grade teachers who test the effectiveness of entries in actual classroom use. The books are evaluated on ease of use in a core curriculum area, originality and creativity, high interest level, and motivation for students.


Children’s Choices

CCAwarded by the International Reading Association and the Children’s Book Council. Each year 10,000 schoolchildren from different regions of the United States read and vote on the newly published children’s and young adults’ trade books they like best. This list is designed for use not only by teachers, librarians, administrators, and booksellers, but also by parents, grandparents, caregivers, and everyone who wishes to encourage young people to read for pleasure.
